Nose Surgery

Do you feel your nose is out of proportion compared to the rest of your face? Nose Surgery may be your answer…

Nose surgery (Rhinoplasty) is a surgical procedure to improve the shape and size of your nose. Rhinoplasty is also performed to correct deformities that result after injury or to relieve nasal obstruction.

How is Nose Surgery performed?

Rhinoplasty is normally done as day surgery under general anaesthetic. Incisions are normally made inside the nostrils, through which trimming of cartilage and bone structure can take place. Sometimes there will be a small incision in the columella (the narrow strip of skin between the nostrils). This incision heals well and is hard to see after a few months.

Rhinoplasty surgery can improve:

  • Nose size, in proportion with other facial features
  • Nose width, at the bridge
  • Visible humps or depressions on the bridge
  • Nasal tip, that is large or rounded
  • Nostrils that are upturned or large in size.

What results can I expect?

Patients can expect change in the shape and size of their nose structure. Changes may be subtle, with the aim of surgery being a natural improvement that blends in with your facial structure. Patients are able to return to work within 2 weeks of surgery.
