Labioplasty
Are you feeling embarrassed about excess skin or tissue? Our female surgeon can help you with your personal needs.
Many women are dissatisfied with the appearance of their labia due to congenital abnormalities, childbirth, trauma or aging. This can be embarrassing and cause self-esteem issues. In some instances, women with large labia can experience pain during intercourse, or feel discomfort during everyday activities or when wearing tight-fitting clothing.
What does Labioplasty involve?
Labioplasty involves reducing the length and reshaping the inner labial lips so that they are smaller than the outer lips (labia majora). The sutures used are dissolvable and the procedure is done as day surgery under local anaesthetic and sedation.
Recovery time
Patients can return home around 1-2 hours after surgery. Light activity can be resumed within 1-2 days; however patients should wait between 4-6 weeks before resuming sexual intercourse.
